Communities: a place to belong and grow

NCS is one church with two bases, and we want everyone to have a smaller place where they can know and be known. Communities help us ensure that no one walks alone.

These are simple, hospitable gatherings where food, friendship, Scripture, prayer and everyday mission meet. They are places to go deeper with Jesus, carry one another’s burdens and learn to live as a seven-day serving church wherever God has placed us.

We're called Cheers (where everybody knows your name, and they're always glad you came). We meet in person every Wednesday evening at 6pm for a meal and then a time of prayer, Bible study, and discussion. We don't have a specific focus (yet!) but pretty much everyone in the group is heavily involved in serving the young, the vulnerable, and those on the fringes of society both locally, nationally, and internationally. We spend quite a lot of time supporting one another and those we are serving. We would love some younger people, so please feel free to reach out if you're interested in trying out this community!

DNA
Our name is based on Roman's 8 v14-17, where it speaks about how God's spirit testifies with our spirit & we are His children - we are heirs of God & co heirs with Christ. His DNA flows in & through us and we are part of His family.
We meet every Wednesday night (in term time) at 7.30pm -9.30 pm in the Youth room at church (St Thomas' Philadelphia.)
We are a friendly group who enjoy worshipping, praying, discussing the bible & sharing communion together.
Our heart is to love, encourage, challenge and support each other in our walk with God and to be a group where people feel they belong.
