Last weekend St Thomas Philadelphia and King’s Centre gathered together for Gather to go!
Hosted by Peter & Anne Findley, the church was invited to receive free training on living a lifestyle of mission. By modelling households, a core value of the church, guests were able to get inspired, chat through ideas of how to lead a household well and put plans into action.
Households are usually based around food and friendship, but as modelled on Friday night, this does not mean buying the most expensive foods for all in attendance. The team provided jacket potatoes and fillings on Friday night to demonstrate that leading a household is simple and accessible for all members of the church – and they went down a treat!
Guests were asked to dream and plan about what they wanted to see happen in the next month, 6 months and 3 years. Individually, everyone filled out declarations of their short-term and long-term goals, which will then be given back to them to reflect on in the months to come.
Gather to go was a huge success and will no doubt leave everyone with things to pray over and actions to complete. We are so excited to see how God works through households in the coming months! Thank you to all who attended and all who helped make the event happen!
