From 14th Feb – 1st April we will be declaring breakthrough over our City in prayer.
Here is what we will be praying daily:
It’s all about Jesus, a day for worship.
“We love because he first loved us.” 1 John 4:19
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” Mark 12:30
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:5
We declare that we love because God first loved us.
We pray that we will love God with our hearts, souls, minds and our strength, that Jesus will be Lord of our lives, and that we will seek first the Kingdom of God in everything we do and say.
We declare that as we rest in him today, he will make us fruitful.
We’re praying for people to become disciples and to come to faith.
“The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” Luke 10:2
“And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” Acts 2:47b
We declare that the harvest is plentiful and that the Lord daily saves people.
We declare that today, people in Sheffield will come to faith and we pray that this year, we will make disciples who make disciples.
We particularly pray for….
We’re praying for missional communities and households to grow and multiply and that we would grow in faith, hope and love, and for new leaders to emerge.
“Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.” Matthew 13:8
“So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.” Ephesians 4:11-13
“They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the Lord
for the display of his splendour.
They will rebuild the ancient ruins
and restore the places long devastated;
they will renew the ruined cities
that have been devastated for generations.” Isaiah 61:3-4
We declare that our missionary communities and households, and particularly ….. community, will grow in numbers, strength and that they will multiply and increase the spread of the gospel.
We declare that the church is Jesus’ body, and that as the apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers do their work, we grow into the fullness of Jesus.
We declare that we will grow in faith, hope and love to rebuild, restore and renew.
We’re praying for God’s Kingdom to transform our city through ministries, in different sectors, cultures and neighbourhoods of Sheffield.
“So the word of God spread. The number of disciples in Jerusalem increased rapidly” Acts 6:7
“For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.” Colossians 1:19-20
“The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches.” Matthew 13:31-32
We declare that it is God’s heart that all should be saved and that through Jesus, all things will be reconciled to him through his blood.
We pray that God’s kingdom will grow in and transform Sheffield, and that new households and communities of faith will be established in different places and in different networks.
We pray that the ministries of Forge and Restore will bring God’s love to many vulnerable and marginalised children and adults.
We bless each sector of the city (business, arts, media, education, NHS, family, governance..) each sub-culture and each neighbourhood of the city that the Holy Spirit would be at work, that each would align with God’s kingdom and prosper.
In particular, we pray for…..
SUPERNATURAL SIGNS OF THE KINGDOM
We’re asking God for an outpouring of the Spirit so that we can hear his voice, live in his power and display the love of Jesus. We’re praying for healings and deliverance.
“Now, Lord,…. enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness. Stretch out your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus.
After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.” Acts 4:29-31
We declare that God given us authority and has poured out his Holy Spirit on us.
We pray for an increase in healings, deliverance and in signs and wonders, both as we gather and as we meet those who don’t yet know Jesus.
In particular, we pray for those who need healing today.
We pray for….
PARTNERS IN THE GOSPEL – OTHER CHURCHES
We’re praying for other workers, churches and ministries in the city, for God’s blessing on them, for growing relationships and partnerships.
“There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.” Ephesians 4:4-6
We declare that the church in Sheffield is one body.
We speak blessing on our brothers and sisters across the city that they would prosper and grow in their knowledge and love of Jesus and be effective in reaching out with his love.
We pray for growing relationships between churches.
We’re praying for provision at every level, financial, leaders, opportunities and everything we need for breakthrough.
“Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.” Hebrews 13:20
We declare that God is giving us strategy, vision and finances to do the work He’s called us to. We do not shrink back but take every bit of ground that He gives us.
We are family, we are joyful willing workers and the harvest is huge. Come on!
